I have loved video games my entire life. They haven’t been getting in the way of things at all, but I realize now that I could put the time to much better use. Is cold turkey the only way? How would you do it?

Give them away and play the sax more.
LET ME STATE THE OBIVIOUS………GO OUT SIDE DUH!!!!!
A Hammer
Get a hoby. Like tv or computer, or jus sell it and buy ur self a new car!
burn them!! haha just kidding. or u could just give them away or sell them on ebay or sell them to a video game store that takes used games.
yep!
trash them or sell them that way there is no temptation around you
Why the flip do u wanna give up video games!!! Just spend less time on them…Maybe an hour or 30 minutes a day.Keep decreasing the time. Good luck.
Cold Turkey.
Just space out your time. You don’t have to give up on video games altogether. You deserve free time, you know? Do something if you feel like it, rather than clinging to a controler and what not.
get a girlfriend.
there are levels too
your goal is to reach level 4,
and if your lucky enough, level 5!
Weening yourself might be better. Instead of an hour of video games, do an hour of something else, each day or week add another half hour or hour of that activity till it drowns out the need to play your video games. I do lots of other things like read, draw or cook, but working out works best for me
if u have 360 there is a family timer
ask a friend to put in the password and play
the times are in 15 min intervals and u can set it for weekly or for day to day
i have mine set to 8 hours a week and it sends u to dash board wen it runs out
Get a high maintenance pet or significant other. Sometimes they’re the same.
SWITCH IT OFF! Go for a walk/A swim/A bath,
Anywhere you won’t be able to plug it in.
Sale them on ebay or give them to me. ehheeh.
Instead of playing games virtually…play it in reality…it will be more fun and a good exciting, it can even be useful and enjoyable…like boxing, golfing, racing, shooting….
Give them away to charity so that way you would feel good about it and it wouldnt be around you and be a temptation.
Oh man that’s a tough one for me since I love them. But I HAVE been playing them less now that I have bigger responsibilities so maybe I can help.
I would think cold turkey should be the way to go. Sell your games and consoles on ebay or at gamestop (whichever tempts you less and gives you the most money for your stuff) then try looking for a soup kitchen or homeless shelter you could volunteer at. Or something similar to that. Something that helps others. Maybe take up drawing or painting. ANYTHING that could be productive and take up some time and thought. Also I am not sure you need to quit altogether. If you have an XBOX 360, and have updated your dashboard. It now comes with a timer that limits playtime daily or weekly. Maybe have a friend set the amount of time you want and have THEM set the password without you knowing. That way, they’ll be keeping you accountable if you don’t think you could excercise enough restraint on your own. Hope I helped!
give them to me just kidding lol. um i would try going on a week long camping trick and getting a hobbie here are some good ones
wood turning, woodworking, bike, knitting i know sounds girlie but it is a good hobbie, bowling, and that is all i can think of but try some they can be fun
Great question! Take it from me, you’ll know when you’re ready to quit! Here’s a quick story about myself. I’m 28 now and I spent most of my childhood glued to video games, (NES, Genesis, and my PC), When I turned 17, I got a job working for Babbage’s (now GameStop), I went from being a video game nerd, to being an UBER Video game nerd! We had a checkout policy and everything, so life was GREAT! I constantly played Ultima Online and even had a guild with many of my friends, but all that changed when I was 18 and I happened to meet a girl. I had dated girls before then, but no one like her. All of sudden, I found myself wanting to spend more time with her rather than playing video games. It felt like I had been wasting my life away! I sold my playstation, quit playing U.O. and started enjoying the outside world! For the first time, I had REAL friends and we started going places and experiencing new things.. it was a breath of fresh air. So my answer to you is to find something or someone that you enjoy more than video games, then you’ll just simply lose interest. LOVE is the perfect replacement for gaming, just my personal suggestion. (oh, and just to clarify things, the girl broke up with me a year later, but I never went back to gaming, I just found more girls! woohoo!)
there are many answers to this question.
give them away
1) you could reduce the time you are playing on video games
2) you could sell them
3) put them in a closet for 10 years then sell them for antiques
4) give them to you little brother or sister
5) eBay them
6) get a hammer
7) burn them
it doesn’t matter how you do it as long as you do it
wow one of the other questions was gay. he said to watch tv or play computer…. thats basically the bloody same thing. play socca foo
